Robert R. Crowl of Belle Vernon, and recently of Long Beach, NY died Friday, January 22, 2010.  The cause of death was seizure which led to cardiac arrest.  Two daughters survive their father; Julianne Crowl, 39, of Seattle, WA and Jennifer Lee Crowl, 37, of Long Beach, NY.  Mr. Crowl had suffered a massive stroke in June 2005, and lived since with substantial physical and mental incapacities.  Since his illness in 2005, he has been cared for by his daughter, Jennifer Lee, and her husband, Christopher G. Rinaman in New York.  Mrs. Julia "Jay" Paholski, Julianne and Jennifer's Grandmother, of Belle Vernon, also mourns his passing.

Born to Ann (Whitecheck) and Robert Crowl, both deceased, in Centerville, Pennsylvania, Crowl graduated Centerville High School in 1957, and received his Bachelor's degree in Metal and Wood Shop from California University in California, Pennsylvania.  He served in the United States Army from 1961-1963 in the Army Air Defense Command Choral Group playing concerts in venues all across the country including Carnegie Hall.

Bob Crowl worked as a salesman at Castrol North America where he sold metal-working fluids to industrial machine shops in the tri-state area.  He retired from Castrol after 31 years in 2000.   Bob was active in the parish community at St. Anne Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and the St. Anne Choir.  He was a favorite server at the church's spaghetti dinners.  He also enjoyed flying (he held a private pilot's license in the 1970s and 1980s), wood working, golf, playing cards, and cutting the grass.

Bob's pride and joy were his daughters.  Julianne works in Seattle as legal assistant for Starbucks Corporation.   Jennifer is an actress and dancer in New York.
