William L.
Kreuter, 67, of Mendon, PA
died Saturday, August 20, 2011 in his home. Born in Smithton on March
24, 1944, he was the oldest son of the late William Henry and Betty M.
(Bentley) Kreuter.
Bill graduated
from South Huntingdon High School, served the United States in the Air
Force during the Vietnam conflict, and was a member of the West Newton
American Legion. He was a graduate of California University of
Pennsylvania. Prior to his retirement, Bill had been in management for
the Elliot Company & the Kaiser Aluminum Company, and was also a
teacher. After his retirement, he was still active and drove a school
bus for the PA Coach Lines. Bill enjoyed many hobbies, namely
travelling with his wife and ice fishing with his son and brothers. He
was an excellent machinist and enjoyed making various types of engines
and cannons. Bill enjoyed attending engine shows with his buddy, Bill
Lee. He loved old cars and his custom Mercury won various prizes over
the years. He was especially happy when this car was used as a prop on
stage for the D. J. Porky Chedwick's retirement celebration, and the
famous Wolfman Jack sat in the driver's seat.
Bill is survived
by his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda Gail (Albright) Kreuter;
daughter; Elizabeth Rose (Kreuter) Myers & husband David Myers, Sr.;
son, Jerimiah Lee Kreuter & wife Sara (Jesick) Kreuter; 2
grandchildren, Megan & Mitchell Myers; 2 brothers, Robert Kreuter &Bruce
Kreuter; sister, Barbara (Kreuter) Wisneski & husband Gregory Wisneski;
3 aunts; several cousins, nieces & nephews.
A Memorial service
will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Barren
Run United Methodist Church, Barren Run, PA with the Rev. John Logan
officiating. Interment, with full military honors accorded by the VFW
Post 33 Greensburg Honor Guard, will follow in Barren Run Cemetery.
