
Stephen
A. Petrus, 93, of
Fellsburg (Rostraver Township) passed away Wednesday, August 24,
2011 in Dunlevy Gardens Assisted Living. Born in Donora on
February 8, 1918, he was the son of the late John and Susan
Petrus.
Stephen
was the owner of Aetna Window and Office Cleaning Company where
he retired at 80 years old. He was an avid bowler and gardener
and continued to bowl and work in his garden even after losing
his eyesight. He was a charter member of the Church of St. Anne
in Rostraver Township where he was active in the Holy Name
Society and served as an usher and was also a member of the
Catholic War Veterans of the US in Donora. He served as a
Corporal in the 395th Service Squadron Army Air
Forces in the European Theater during World War II. He was the
last surviving member of his family.
Left to
cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 62 years, Marjorie A.
(Greenlee) Petrus; 3 children, Becky Greene & husband Raymond of
Elizabeth Twp., John C. Petrus & wife Vicky of Fellsburg and
Pamela Adamson & husband Ronald of Brownsville; 5 grandchildren,
Rachel Greene, Jamie Gilbert & husband Randy, Craig Petrus,
Sarah Collins & husband Dan and Elizabeth Adamson; 2
sisters-in-law, Sue Petrus and Dorothy Petrus both of Donora; as
well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant
brother, Joseph and brothers, John, George, Thomas and Edward
Petrus; and sisters, Mary Susky and Anne Sotak.
Friends
will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the

Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 9:30 a.m.
followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St.
Anne, Rostraver Township with the Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as
celebrant. Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery, Rostraver
Township.
In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American
Cancer Society.
