Roy W. Cuthbert, Sr., 83, of Rostraver Twp., died Sunday, September 18, 2011 in his home .  Born in Charleroi on September 26, 1927, he was the son of the late John William and Martha (Boyd) Cuthbert.

 

Roy retired as janitor for the Belle Vernon Area School District; he also worked for his son, Cal, at Cal Cuthbert Pools in Belle Vernon.  He was Latter-Day Saints by faith.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict .

 

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Lorenzo) Cuthbert; 2 sons, Michael A. Cuthbert, Sr. of Monessen and Calvin D. (Arlene) Cuthbert of Belle Vernon; daughter, Amy E. (Fred) Flower of Smithton; 3 grandsons, Michael (Dani Jo) Cuthbert, Jr., Jacob W. (Elizabeth) Cuthbert and Jason R. Winters; sister, Martha Davis of West Mifflin.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roy W. Cuthbert, Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

 

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Klein officiating.  Interment, with Military honors, will follow in Fells Cemetery.
