Nicholas Aaron
Aitken, 18, of St. Louis, MO
died suddenly on Thursday, November 26, 2009. He was the beloved son of
Tamara (nee Bergman) and Bart Aitken; loving brother of Ian Aitken; dear
grandson of Pauline and Robert Aitken of Rostraver, PA and the late
Betty and Charles E. Bergman; dear Godson of Sandra Aitken and Ethan
Aitken; loving nephew, great-nephew, cousin and friend of many.
Nicholas had
attended MICDS, Horton Watkins High School and graduated from Provo
Canyon School in Provo, Utah. Nicholas enjoyed cross country running,
playing the guitar, was a peer mentor at his high school, was a talented
artist and served as an Altar boy at his church. Nicholas was bright,
witty, and insightful and also a very caring, sensitive and
compassionate person.
The family will
receive friends at Lupton Chapel, 7233 Delmar Blvd., University City, MO
on Sunday, November 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. with prayers for the departed (Panachida
service) at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November
30 at 10 a.m. at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 416
Ewing Ave. at 5th St., Madison, IL 62060. Interment will be
on Wednesday, December 2 at 10 a.m. at Fells Cemetery, Rostraver, PA
with the Very Rev. Igor R. Soroka officiating.
In lieu of
flowers, memorials appreciated to Families Anonymous Inc., P.O. Box
3475, Culver City, CA 90231-3475 or to the charity of the donor’s
choice.
