Maxine
Lane, 82, of West Newton went
peacefully to be with the Lord after a lengthy and courageous battle
with cancer on Sunday, November 1, 2009 surrounded by family members at
her daughter’s home. She was born June 22, 1927 in Roscoe, a daughter
of the late Louis H. and Ellen (Abbott) Hess.
Maxine was a loving
mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of
the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township and was an avid Pittsburgh
Penguin and Steeler fan.
She is survived by
2 sons, Kenneth R. Lane Jr. and Joseph A. (Linda) Lane; daughter,
Barbara J. (Samuel) Van Bremen; grandchildren, Toni (Kirk Sr.) Melenyzer
and their sons, Kirk Jr., Adam and Chad; Christie (Robert) Mansberry and
their sons, James and Aiden and daughter, Abigayle; Benjamin Simon and
fiancée, April Avnayim; Danielle Lane and fiancée, Carl and son, Jacob
Dengler; as well as several neices and nephews.
In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth R. Lane Sr.;
brother, Kenneth Hess; and sisters, Ellen Irene Uhlman and Frances
Hall.
Friends will be
received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and until 9:30 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church
of St. Anne, Rostraver Township with her Pastor, the Rev. Ronald L.
Simboli, presiding. Interment will be private.
The family would
like to thank all of the caregivers and friends who gave so freely of
their time and energies to enrich her life.
