Ross F. Povirk, 62, of Somerset, formerly of Collinsburg and Belle Vernon, died suddenly on Monday, November 9, 2009.  Born in Collinsburg on March 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Frank and Sara (Appaline) Povirk.

Ross loved his wife and family and considered them the most important part of his life.  He was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as a dispatcher.

He is survived by his wife, Rita J. (Essey) Povirk; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Frank and Lori Povirk of Spotsylvania, VA and Ross Povirk of Belle Vernon; 5 grandchildren, Jeri Lynn, Jessica, Robert, Leroy and Amanda Povirk; 2 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Ralph and Elaine Conn of Belle Vernon and Edward and Linda Essey of Belle Vernon; nephew, Edward Essey; 3 nieces, Nicole Niles, Kimberly Little and Laura Essey; 2 great nephews, Trevor Niles and Kameron Little; and great niece, Teagan Niles.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.  A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
