Edwin
H. Hamilton, 88, of Belle
Vernon (Rostraver Township), died Sunday, December 27, 2009 in Excela
Health Latrobe Hospital. Born in Sioux Falls, SD on February 9, 1921,
he was the son of the late Scott and Edyth (Luce) Hamilton.
Edwin was a
retired conductor from the B & O Railroad. He was a member of the First
Church of God in West Newton, the Hopwood AMVETS, the Connellsville
Elks, and was a life member of the West Newton VFW. He served in the
U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by
his 3 daughters, Frances Sabo of South Huntingdon Twp., Cathy (William)
Hanna of Ravena, OH, and Debra (James) Boyce of Shallotte, NC; several
grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a
special friend, Patricia Basinger.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene L. Hamilton on
September 11, 1996 and stepson, Richard L. Crupe.
Friends will be
received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump
Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township

Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Beth Dunlap
officiating. Interment, with full Military honors, will follow in West
Newton Cemetery.
