John G. Kuma, 83,
of Belle Vernon (Rostraver
Township) died Thursday, December 29, 2011 in Mon Valley
Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh on June 7, 1928, he was the
son of the late John V. and Irene (Ponchak) Kuma.
John
was retired from electrical maintenance at Pages Steel and
Wire Co. in Monessen. He was a member of St. Sebastian
Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. He was very active in the
Charleroi American Legion, the V.F.W. in Monongahela and the
USS Holder 819 Reunion Group. He was an avid golfer,
bowler, loved arts and crafts, and served his country in the
U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He is
survived by his wife, Charlotte (Berton) Kuma; 2 sons, John
(Toka) Kuma of Nipomo, CA and Timothy A. Kuma of Belle
Vernon; 3 daughters, Marlene (Andrew) Gutierrez of
Guadalupe, CA, Mary Ann (Ted) Sebetich of Belle Vernon and
Rebecca Kuma of Altomonte Springs, FL; 2 brothers, Thomas
(Mary) Kuma of Dormont and Paul (Laverne) Kuma of Donora;
and sister, Florence (Ed) Navrotski of Eighty Four. He will
also be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
daughter, Eileen Kuma Muffoletto.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump

where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday, January 2,
2012 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 801 Broad Avenue, Belle
Vernon with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant.
Interment, with Military honors conducted by the Charleroi
American Legion, will be in St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora.
