Lillian R. Narbut peacefully passed away in sleep Sunday, December 6, 2009 at her home.  She was 98 years of age and had been in declining health for some time.  Born March 11, 1911 in Pricedale to Harold and Teresa Round, she was married in 1933 to John P. Narbut (deceased January 29, 2004).  Lillian, an honors student at Rostraver High School, graduated from Monessen High School in 1929.  She attended California Normal School attaining her teacher’s certificate and taught many years in the Rostraver Township School system – first teaching 8 grades in a one room schoolhouse, then LaGrange, Fellsburg and Belle Vernon.

Lillian is survived by her children Harold and Kerin, their spouses and children; Mary Narbut, John T. Yates, Jr., Anthony and Laurance Narbut, Geoffrey and Nathan Yates and 6 great grandchildren; Andrew, Caitlin, Sara, Steven, Lauren and Hannah.  She is also survived by daughters of her sister, Gladys Kefover (deceased September 17, 1955); June (Mrs. Richard) Kefover and Diane (Mrs. Paul) Marraccini.  E. Mabel Round, who was like a sister to Lillian, predeceased her in May of 2005.

Lillian requested that “anyone who feels they wish to show respect and love for me, do something for someone who needs a friend or helping hand.”
