Michael
Rubosky, 88, of Belle Vernon
(Rostraver Township), died Saturday, December 19, 2009 in his home,
surrounded by his children. Born in Duquesne on July 18, 1921, he was
the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Pokol) Rubosky.
Mike was a retired
History and English teacher from Springdale High School. He loved
literature, was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to classical music,
loved nature and was also an avid gardener. He was Lutheran by faith
and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by
his 2 sons, Michael A. (Terri A.) Rubosky of Rostraver Township and
Charles D. (Donna) Rubosky of Spokane, WA; 6 daughters, Vida L. Rubosky
George of Pittsburgh, Lisa C. (Thomas) Wright of Somerset, Stephanie L.
Rubosky of Dodge City, KS, Elizabeth K. (Paul) Nazarovitch of Monessen,
Irene S. Rubosky of Rostraver Township and K. Alexis (Patrick) Conners
of Rostraver Township; 9 grandchildren, Lindsay Russell, Melissa Rubosky,
Dawn Rubosky, Erin Polites, Haley Rubosky, Brighton Cavaliere, Kasey
Rubosky, Patrick Conners and Dak Calkins; great grandson, Liam Russell;
brother, Albert (Georgia) Rubosky of OH; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine A. Rubosky on
September 20, 1997; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Peitz and Irene
Pillette.
Friends will be
received on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home
Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934)

C. Wright, officiating. Interment will follow in the West Newton
Cemetery.
