M. Esther Budd,
96, of Rostraver Township, went to be with her heavenly family on
Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Born October 26, 1911, she was the daughter
of the late Samuel and Stella (Lowe) Timms.
Esther was a
lifelong member of Concord United Methodist Church. Over the years, she
served as pianist, Sunday School Teacher, and custodian. Her greatest
joy was to make quilted covers and give them to those she cared about or
who were in need. In the 1960’s, she took a nursing course in
Pittsburgh. Her knowledge and memory of the local history was extra
ordinary to the end.
Esther will be
remembered as a loving and caring mother by her two daughters, Mary Lee
McBeth and Florence (Jim) Fretz and by a son, Thomas (Judy) Budd, also
by 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great-great
grandchildren.
In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of over 70 years,
Harold; son, Benjamin; an infant son, James; and an infant great
grandson, Cameron.
Friends will be
received on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle
Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934)
