John Komar, 90,
of Rostraver Township, died
Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in the Harmon House in Mt. Pleasant. Born in Van
Meter on December 4, 1917, he was the son of the late Michael Komar, Sr.
and Helen (Hazy) Komar.
John worked at
Banning Mine and later worked for Monongahela Ford, detailing cars. He
loved sports, especially baseball, football, hockey and golf. He was
very proud to be inducted into the Dunn Club of the National Association
of Professional Baseball Leagues. He was a veteran of World War II,
serving in the U. S. Army in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland
and was a member of the V. F. W.
He is survived by
his wife of 46 years: Helen (Harash) Komar , whom he married May 13,
1962 and several nieces & nephews.
Friends will be
received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump
Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township

with the Rev. Ronald L. Simboli officiating. Interment, with Military
honors, will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
