Fred L. Krome, 90, of Glassport and Englewood, Florida, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 in Select Specialty Hospital in McKeesport.  Born in Pittsburgh on November 24, 1917, he was the son of the late Frederick and Sophia (Schweizer) Krome.

Fred received his Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and taught at McKeesport High School.  He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Englewood, Florida and also attended Queen of the Rosary Catholic Church in Glassport.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps.

He is survived by: 2 sisters-in-law; Rose Sharp of Glassport, with whom he made his home and Ann (Woltz) Krome of Cranberry Township; several nieces & nephews: and several great nieces & great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes (Sharp) Krome; 2 brothers, Thomas & Robert Krome; and a sister, Imelda Lauderbaugh.

There will be no public visitation.  A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.  Burial will take place in Englewood, Florida.
