Robert S. Tomich, 81,
of Rostraver
Township, died Friday, July 4, 2008 in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Born in Donora on June 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Lawrence and
Maria (Ronac) Tomich.
Mr. Tomich worked for U.
S. Steel, Donora Works until the closure; he then was a Research
Scientist for Bituminous Coal Research and retired from BCR. He was a
member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township. He served in
the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of the Mon
Valley Leathernecks and the VFW Post No. 699 in Belle Vernon.
He is survived by his
wife, Helen (Sabo) Tomich; a daughter & son-in-law, Catherine Elizabeth
& Alan Scott of Boulder Creek, California; 3 sons& 2 daughters-in-law,
Thomas Robert & Julie Tomich of Flower Mound, Texas, Mark Stephen &
Christina Tomich of Rostraver Township and Robert J. Tomich of Rostraver
Township; 10 grandchildren, Sarah, Joe & Rosemary Scott; Heather
Mathews; Matthew, Erica & Christina Tomich; Jillian & Stephanie Tomich
and Mark Tomich, Jr.; and 2 great grandchildren, Kylie & Kendall
Mathews.
Friends will be received
on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and
Tuesday until 9:30 a.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580

A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:00 am in the Church
Of St. Anne, with his Pastor, the Rev. Ronald L. Simboli, presiding.
Interment, with Full Military Honors, will follow in West Newton
Cemetery.
