Linda L. Abbott

Linda L. Abbott, 65, of Fayette City, died Monday, June 2, 2008 in Havencrest Nursing Center, Carroll Township.  Born in Brownsville on September 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Irwin Abbott, Sr. and Helen (Jones) Abbott.

Mrs. Abbott worked in the ultrasound department for Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township and Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant.  She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Rostraver Township where she served on the Deaconate Board.

She is survived by her son; William E. "Ted" Williams of Fayette City; daughter & son-in-law; Wendy & David Steere of Johnstown; and a brother; Irwin Abbott, Jr. of West Newton.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. George Lammay officiating.  Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
