Norina
Grace D’Altorio, 94,
died Monday, November 3, 2008 at 11:25 p.m. in Whispering Pines
Village,
Columbiana, OH.
Mrs. D’Altorio
was born July 12, 1914 in Donora, a daughter of the late Luigi and
Marianna (Ritacco) Diulus.
Norina had
lived in the Columbiana area for the past four years moving to Ohio
from Monessen in October of 2004. She graduated with a BA in
Education from California State Teachers College and was employed as
an elementary teacher for the Elizabeth Forward School District for
28 years. She was co-owner of Paul A. D’Altorio Funeral Home in
Monessen, Monongahela and California, PA. Her favorite things to do
with her family were making homemade soup with homemade noodles,
making
meatballs and going shopping. She was a
member of the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C.
Church in Monessen and the Catholic
Daughters of America.
Her husband,
Paul Anthony D’Altorio, whom she married July 31, 1943 died April
10, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise
Marconyak.
She is survived
by two daughters, Elizabeth Jean (David) Cusick of Columbiana, OH
and Rosemary D’Altorio of Annapolis, MD; four grandchildren, Paul
(Patti) Cusick, Jennifer (Matthew) Strank, Eric (Joy) Cusick and
Maria Jaunakais; and five great grandchildren, Gabriel and Anthony
Cusick, Olivia and Matthew Strank and Julian Cusick.
Friends will be
received on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig
Funeral Home in Columbiana, OH (www.familycareservices.com).
An additional visitation will be held on Friday, November 7 from
9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church, 618
Knox Avenue, Monessen where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at
10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Nazimek as celebrant. Entombment will
follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
The family

Circle, Suite E, Youngstown, OH 44515 and would like to offer a
special thank you to the staff at Whispering Pines Village, Southern
Care Hospice and her private caregivers: Debby Ludwig, Jane
Fletcher, Cara Burt Orr, Megan Bettura, Lynne McCurdy, Patty Hogue
and Lana Hogue.
