Harry R. Daumit

 

Harry R. Daumit, 92, of Rostraver Township, died Monday, November 3, 2008 in the Cherry Tree Nursing Center in Uniontown.  Born in Smithton on July 21, 1916, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna G. (Corry) Daumit.

 

Harry was retired from USX in Donora and the Rostraver Township Road Department.

 

He is survived by his son; Gerald M. Daumit of Rostraver Township; granddaughter; Sherri Stone & husband Jeff; great granddaughter; Sammie Stone and a sister; Betty Hardee of Umatilla, FL and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen I. Daumit on April 20, 2007; granddaughter, Shelli Rae Daumit; 5 sisters, Rose Sofran, Jaye Herndon, Kathryn Yoder, Helen Fisch and Faye Mavromates; and a brother, George Daumit.

 

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6 at 10:00 am with the Rev. Kent Lighthall officiating.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
