William
G. "Bucky" Moore, Jr.,
90, of Sewickley,
formerly of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in the
Masonic Village at Sewickley. Born in McKeesport on September 6,
1918, he was the son of the late William G. Moore, Sr. and Ethel
(Nichols) Moore.
Bucky worked for Firth Sterling
Steel in McKeesport and Kennametal in New Stanton; after retirement,
he drove bus for the Belle Vernon Area School District. He was a
member of Fells United Methodist Church, the Duquesne-McKeesport
Lodge No. 731 F. & A. M. and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon in
McKeesport. In 1981, Bucky was inducted into the Boston Sports Hall
of Fame for Baseball. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during
World War II .
He is survived by his 2 sons,
William G. (Aggie) Moore III of Washington and Bruce J. (Christina)
Moore of Manhattan, NY; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and
2 sisters, Marlyn (Jack) Moon of Crafton and Doris (Reese) Evans of
Pensacola, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his wife, Thelma I. Moore on July 22, 2007.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 to
9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump

FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET
at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 11 in Fells United Methodist Church
for a Funeral Service with the Rev. Scott Berkley officiating.
Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Twp.
The family requests memorial
donations, through the funeral home, to the Masonic Learning Center
for Dyslexic Children.
