Robert
M. ''Spider'' Thompson, 79,
of Rostraver Township, died
Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born in Clairton on September 10, 1929, he was the son of the late
Donley B. and Eva (Simeker) Thompson.
Mr. Thompson
was retired from the battery at USX Clairton Works. He was a member
of the First Christian Church in Monessen, Donora American Legion
#212 and Brunswick Bowling League. He served in the U.S. Army
during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived
by his wife, Mitzie (Joll) Thompson; 3 sons, Mark F. (Darlene)
Thompson, Glenn J.( Lisa) Thompson and Robert M. (Marlyn) Thompson,
Jr. all of Rostraver Township; 11 grandchildren, Theresa Semancik,
Julie Sabo, Elizabeth Hide, Edward Snyder Jr., Danny Snyder, Timmy
Snyder, Paul Snyder, Joshua Thompson, Amanda Thompson, Jonathon
Thompson and David Thompson; 6 great grandchildren, Jenna Semancik,
Michael Semancik, Jr., Robert Sabo, Joey Sabo, Jonathon Sabo and
Katrina Thompson; and a sister, Helen Pasterick of Rostraver
Township.
In addition to
his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Ann
Snyder.
Friends will
be received on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive,

where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am with
Rev. Conrad Auel officiating. Interment, with full Military honors,
will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Carroll Township.
