Anthony T. Nicolette, 97, of Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in The Residence at Hilltop. Born in Belle Vernon on June 23, 1921, he was the son of the late John B. and Julia (Bonasso) Nicolette.
Anthony was best known in many communities in the state of Pennsylvania for being a singer and an auctioneer for 32 years. He was also a crane operator for 41 years at the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was the owner and operator of Sinclair Gasoline & Repair Shop. Anthony was a boxer in his younger years and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his sons Anthony (Nancy) Nicolette Jr. and Thomas (Joann) Nicolette; daughter, Juliann (Earl) Mueller; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lauteri Nicolette; daughter, Adrianne Nicolette; a son, John Nicolette at childbirth; brothers, Salvatore, Dominic, Frank, Joseph and John; sisters, Teresa, Angeline and Jeannette.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Gigliotti officiating. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in the Belle Vernon Cemetery Chapel for entombment with Military honors.
The Fourth Degree Color Corp of the Knights of Columbus will conduct a service in the funeral home on Sunday at 6 p.m.
