George Grant Faust, 76, of Rostraver Township, died on Monday, August 6, 2018. Born in Buena Vista on August 15, 1941, he was the son of the late John George Faust and Nola (Fields) Faust Craig.
Grant was an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local No. 5. A member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, he was past president and member of the Buena Vista Fire Department and member and past president of Buena Vista Social Hall, former head of the Buena Vista River Rescue and coordinator of the Mon Yough Fire Defense River Rescue. He was a member of the Harry S. Truman Masonic Lodge No. 765 F&AM East McKeesport, the Syria Shriners, the Russian Club in Pricedale and the Buena Vista Owls.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth "Roni" (Shuma) Faust; daughter, Alexis J. (Salvatore) Punturiero; grandson, Sal Punturiero; siblings, Alberta (Mike) Kobulnicky of Buena Vista, Ed Faust of Buena Vista and Nola Canterbury of Liberty Boro; brother-in-law, George (Linda) Shuma of Meriden, CT; nieces and nephews, Michael (Anna) Kobulnicky, Pam (Michael) Gregory, John Kobulnicky (who was also his very best friend), Rachel (Kyle) Andrews, Leah McNulty, Attorney Rebecca Canterbury, Joey Canterbury and George Shuma.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen with Rev. Michael Crookston as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery.
The Harry S. Truman Masonic Lodge No. 765 F&AM will conduct a Masonic Funeral Service for Brother Faust on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
