Betty Durka

Betty J. Durka, 91, of Belle Vernon, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Jo Ella's Personal Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. Born in Rostraver Township on June 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. Miller and Olive Mae (Huff) Miller Smith.
Betty was a loving wife and mother, and she loved to play bingo. She devoted her life to her handicapped son, Bruce.
She is survived by three sons, Thaddeus A. (Helen) Durka Jr. of Uniontown; Roger (Lynn) Durka of Forest City, North Carolina and Bruce Durka at Mt. Macrina Nursing Home in Uniontown; two daughters, Georgetta (John) Gross of Markleton, PA and Lana (Mike) Lemley of Rostraver Township; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Miller Jr. of Emporium; sister, Helen Thurston of Orem, Utah; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus A. Durka; brother, William Miller; and sister, Margaret Martin.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
