Carl Melvin Larose

Carl Melvin "Red" LaRose, 86, of Butler, died Thursday, August 19, 2021. Born in Allenport on July 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Oben LaRose and Hazel Florence (Waltz) LaRose Graves.
Carl was a precision tool and cutter grinder and worked for Grumman Aerospace Engineering and Timken Roller Bearing Co. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Butler Ward. He honorably served his country as a Ranger and had completed Parachute Jump School in the US Army during the Korean era. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and VFW. Carl was a very talented hard-working man, and his motto was "Never Give Up!" He loved fishing and tied his own flies, built model rockets and remote control airplanes, one of which was the Hobie Hawk Glider. He also made his own arrows and was the National Archery Champion in Watkins Glen New York when both he and his wife competed. He also built furniture and in the early days of computers, he built programs for computers.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Ann "Lulu" (Snyder) LaRose; children, Debra Ann Goodman of Butler, Gregory Paul LaRose and wife Jamie of Butler and Kevin Mark LaRose and wife Bridget of WY; grandchildren, David Allen Bradford Harvey of Jacksonville, FL, Adrienne Summer Harvey of Houston, TX, Tiffany Ann Ryan of Jacksonville, FL, Jeremiah Storm LaRose, Zachary LaRose and wife Amanda Moody LaRose, and Mark Patrick LaRose and wife Lindsey of Wilmington, NC, Taylor LaRose and wife Paula of WY and Ryan and Derek LaRose of WY; great grandchildren, Charles Winston Ryan and Valen Bradford Harvey of Jacksonville, FL, Kiralyn LaRose, Darlene LaRose, Brendan, Nathan, Mason and Skylin LaRose of Wilmington, NC and Kayden, Kinsley and Abigail LaRose of WY; siblings, Ardis LaRose Morten and husband Kenneth of Greensburg, Patricia Ann LaRose, June LaRose Graham of Belle Vernon; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Snyder and wife Rose of Charleroi and Wilbur Snyder of Beaver Falls; sister-in-law, Janice Marie Richter of Perryopolis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Carl LaRose; sister, Florence E. LaRose Ames; and an infant brother.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com A Private Funeral Service, with Bishop Rick Barnett officiating, will be live streamed on Friday at 12 p.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will be live streamed on Friday at 2 p.m. from the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donations to assist with medical expenses.
At the familys request, everyone attending the visitation and services must wear a mask and practice social distance.
