Charles M. Coulson

Charles M. Coulson, 87, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, July 29, 2022. Born in Clairton on February 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Michael and Erma (Kunz) Coulson.
Chuck was a supervisor in the Chemical Department of U S Steel Clairton Works and retired after 31 years of service. After retirement, he worked for 9 years for Allied Security and Pinkerton Security with AAA Business Travel. He honorably served his country with the US Navy from 1954 to 1958. During his service, he made 3 expeditions to Antarctica for Operation Deep Freeze and had the honor of meeting Admiral Byrd and Sir Edmund Hillary.
Chuck had a deep faith in the Lord and was an active member of the Church of St. Anne where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Usher and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
His life was centered around his family. He enjoyed all of Irene's baking and cooking and loved telling jokes to his family. He enjoyed golfing with his daughter, Cindy and his grandsons, Cross and Seth and his best buddy, Steve Chomas. He was proud of his "hole in one" at Timber Ridge Golf Course. He was a big sports fan, especially for the Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Irene M. (Reday) Coulson; children, Charlene M. (Coulson) Yankosky of Rostraver, Charles M. Coulson Jr. of Rostraver and Cynthia I. Coulson of Rostraver; grandsons, Cross J. Yankosky and Seth C. Yankosky; sisters, Florence Pritchard of Sardinia, NY and Catherine Schibik of Monongahela; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in the Church of St. Anne with Rev. David J. Nazimek presiding. Entombment, with Military Honors, will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
