Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Kalcevic, 67 ,of Rostraver Townshippassed into the heaven above onSaturday, October 22, 2016,surrounded by her loving family. Born in Winona, Minnesota on February 9, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Clarence William and Frances Evangeline (Menegas) Carter.
Cindy was born and raised in Winona, Minnesota where she attended St. Mary's Catholic School with her two brothers Nicholas (Becky) Carter and James Carter and sister Kalli T. Carter all of Rochester, MN. After her family moved to Rochester, MN, Cindy began working at her family's restaurant, "Carter's Family Restaurant". Upon graduating from Lourdes High School, class of '67, Cindy went on to spread her wings at Mankato State University “now known as Minnesota State University”. After attending Mankato State University, she would meet her husband Phillip W. Kalcevic from Clairton, PA and together they put down their own roots in Rostraver, PA.
Cindy, was a beautiful woman who loved her family and friends very much. She was a kind, gentle and nurturingsoul who would go above and beyond for others. Cindy possessed so many natural talents whether it was her creative art work or cooking. Cindy loved the music of the '60's and epitomized the generation with the pleasant, free-spirited demeanor.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years - - Phillip and Cindy had a loving and fulfilling life they created and shared with their five children and many grandchildren: Christian M. (Nikki) Kalcevic of Arkansas, Alexis A. (William) Repass of Rostraver Township, Joshua C. (Angela) Kalcevic of Donora, Thea A. Kalcevic of Pittsburgh and Nicholas J. Kalcevic of Rostraver Township; grandchildren include Jocelyn, Trevor, Preston, Jaxson, Bexley, Kelcey, Demetrius, Talan and Christian. Cindy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and close friends, Mary, Lorna and Nancy. “Love knows not its own depths until the hour of separation.” - Kahlil Gibran
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township, with Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as celebrant.
