Dolores B. Brier, 92, of Rostraver Township, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born in West Newton, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Angeline (Sims) Beadling.
Dolores was a lifetime member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Newton and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She previously worked at Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Division in West Mifflin and The Times-Sun Newspaper in West Newton.Dolores loved reading books, doing word searches, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, but she especially loved spending time together with her family. She always enjoyed a warm sunny day on the deck or at poolside.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Clinton Brier ; three daughters, Lori (Bob) Urick of Smithton, Lisa (Frank) Spagnolo of Rostraver Township and Lynn (Jim) Shrump of Rostraver Township; grandchildren, Drs. Amanda (Mark ) Balderswiler of Kailua, HI, Tiffany (George) Saunders of King George, VA, Travis Spagnolo of Columbus, OH and Madison Shrump of Rostraver Township; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Isabella Balderswiler, Addison and Juliana Saunders ; her favorite Grandpuppy, Cinco; sister, Ann Stevenson of West Newton; and sister-in-law, Connie Cunningham of Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Klus; brother, Clarence W. Beadling Jr.; and brother-in-law, Bob Cunningham.
Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 225 North 2nd Street, West Newton 15089. The Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joel Sayson presiding. Private interment will be in West Newton Cemetery.
