Elsie Frantz Reeby

April 27, 1940 — February 12, 2023

Elsie Frantz Reeby, 82, of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, February 12, 2023. Born in Warren, Ohio on April 27, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Diana (Cook) Frantz.


Greatly loved by her family, Elsie lived a full life working hard to provide for her family, first as co-owner of a family business with her first husband, Louis, and then as a stockbroker at Quick & Riley. She went back to school to earn her bachelor’s degree at age 56, then after retiring, earned an associate degree in massage therapy at age 68 and became a certified natural health professional. She ran a small massage business and volunteered as a massage therapist at the Ronald McDonald House charity.


At age 50, she learned to swim competitively, with the help of her daughter Marcy, and enjoyed competing in US Masters swimming until the age of 79, often winning events in her age group. She also enjoyed traveling the world on cruises with her second husband, Will, visiting many countries and islands.


She is survived by her daughters, Marcy (Carl) Sarber and Christy (Justin) Tyberg; grandchildren; Alexa, Ryan, and Dylan Tyberg; stepdaughter, Lori (Ron) Black; stepson, Loren (Natalia) Reeby; step-grandchild, Erin Reeby.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis E. Sensenich Jr.; her second husband, William Reeby; and sisters, Nora Bell Lipscomb, and Margaret Jane Bostardi.


A Memorial Service for Elsie will be held at a later date.
