Francis S. Vescio, 88, of Rostraver Township, died at his home on Friday, March 30, 2018. Born in Webster on February 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Michael and Magdaline (Russo) Vescio.
Francis retired from the Charleroi Area School District, where he was the Charleroi Elementary School Principal. He was in education for 37 years, beginning with teaching and then becoming an administrator. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne and had been active as a Eucharistic Minister and Usher. He was very dedicated to his family and loved vacationing with his children and grandchildren. He was a trained photographer and served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his son, Michael F. (Melissa Blanchard) Vescio of Grosse Ile, Michigan; daughter, Valerie (Jim) Romanowski of Marshall Twp.; and his grandchildren, Vincent Vescio, Nina Vescio, Danielle Romanowski and Joshua Romanowski.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores Simone Vescio; a brother, Joseph Vescio; and a sister, Mary Catherine Vescio.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will take place on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Twp. with Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti presiding. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
