George Missiriotis

George Missiriotis, 81, of Belle Vernon, died Sunday, November 23, 2025. Born in Charleroi on February 9, 1944, he was the Son of the late Alexander and Athena (Stirou) Missiriotis. 

George was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Monessen. He was very strong in his faith and was a heavy prayer. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer, having worked for Bailey Engineers and Paul Wurth Corporation. He even redesigned his home with a Greek flair. He loved making candy (George's Chocolates) , cooking, grilling, making barbeque and Maryland crabs. He owned a boat that he docked in the Patapsco River and enjoyed boating and the RV trips with Andrea. George was also an avid sports fan and had fun playing baseball, working on cars and drag racing when he was younger!

George was a loving husband and father and was a wonderful caretaker for his wife for the last eight years. Family and friends meant the world to him. He kept up with his high school classmates and always attended the weekly outings with his friends. George honorably served his country in the Army and has always had great respect for Veterans and his country. He was very generous in donating to numerous charities for Veterans and other organizations.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Andrea (Kotis) Missiriotis and his daughter, Athena Missiriotis of Belle Vernon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Missiriotis.

 Friends will be received on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 119 St. Spyridon Lane, Monessen, Pennsylvania 15062 followed by a Trisagion Service at 11:00 AM with Father Meletios Gianniodis officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting to send monetary donations, in memory of George, to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 119 St. Spyridon Lane, Monessen, PA 15062
