Irene R. Sabol Baker

Irene R. Sabol Baker, 92, of West Newton, died Saturday, September 7, 2024. Born in Monessen on February 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Paluv) Sabol. 

Irene was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in West Newton.  

She is survived by her children Raymond G. (Lana) Baker of West Newton, Linda S. (Rev. Earl) Cassel of Scranton and Sheryl L. (Martin M.) Nigro of Ruffs Dale; six grandchildren, Paul R. (Danielle) Baker, Earl O. Cassel, Rachelle A. (Jason) Scott of Elizabeth, Melissa (Erin) Scott of Pennsville, New Jersey, Mark (Alyssa) Nigro of Ruffs Dale and Lynnette Lugauskas of Ocala, Florida; great grandchildren, Emily (Nate) Everly, Raymond Baker, Audrey and Henry Cassel, Anna, Tyler and Victoria Scott, Dominic, Dustin and Alivia Nigro, Arc, Cynthia and Jonas Lugauskas, and Colleen and Julie Scott; a great great grandchild, Connor Everly; sisters, Mildred Samuels of Lodi, New Jersey and Theresa Koons of Monongahela.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Raymond E. Baker; 3 brothers and 7 sisters. 

Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Glen Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
