Jewette Grant "Jay" Smith III

Jewette Grant ''Jay'' Smith, III, 86, of Leechburg, formerly of New Stanton, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Born in Philadelphia on March 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Jewette G. Smith II and Elizabeth H. (Hodgson) Smith.

Jay was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church where he formerly served as an Elder. Through the years, he had numerous jobs in the sales industry but his favorite job was Manager at Winky's Restaurant. Jay enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and had great pride and love for his nieces and nephews. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard Lee (Anna) Smith of Wexford and H. Kevin (Janet) Smith of West Leechburg; nephews, Thomas (Erin) Rice, Jadon Smith and Benjamin Smith; nieces Rachel (Brian) Barsottini and Sharon Hensley; great nephews, Rylan Hensley, Jude Barsottini and Arlo Barsottini; and great niece, Lucy Barsottini.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com  where a Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with H. Kevin Smith officiating. Interment, with Pastor Thomas Rice officiating, will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.
