John E. ''Jack'' Stump, 67, of Rostraver Twp., died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born in North Charleroi on November 11, 1948, he was the son of the late John H. and Evelyn (Everett) Stump.
Jack served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and worked for North American Rockwell and Pratt & Whitney Aerospace Co. He retired as a Sales Manager from Dean Honda in Pleasant Hills. He was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion, the Russian Club in Pricedale and the PNA in Arnold City.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Cunningham) Stump; two sons, Shawn M. (Debbie) Stump of West Virginia and Jeffrey A. (Christie) Stump of Maryland; two grandchildren, Shawna L. (Zak) Voreh of West Virginia and Bryce D. Stump of Maryland; two great grandchildren, Bentley J. Stump and Ellie M. Voreh; brother, Vernon Stump of New Hampshire; sister, Jeanetta 'Tippy' (Richard) Petras of West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery E. Stump.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Darrel Evans officiating. Military Honors will be conducted following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
