Joseph E. "Butch" Buckeye

Joseph E. “Butch” Buckeye, 77, of Rostraver Township, died at home Saturday, September 21, 2019 following a long battle with cancer and Parkinsons. Born in Victory Hill on December 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Lena (Ghilani) Buckeye.
Joseph was a 1959 graduate of Charleroi High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War Era. Joseph was employed at the Wheeling/Pittsburgh Steel Rail Mill in Monessen. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne. He had a keen interest in the Slovak language and their traditions, and was a member of the National Slovak Society.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anita (Hudock) Buckeye, and he passed away on their anniversary.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant in 1970 and his sister, Patricia, in 1991.
At the request of the family, a Funeral Mass was celebrated, followed by private interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Donora.
