Joseph F. Skraitz, 89, of Rostraver Twp., died Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Donora March 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Frohman) Skraitz.
Joseph was a Tool & Die Maker for the Fisher Body Plant of General Motors. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne and served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Norma (Beck) Skraitz; three sons, William J. (Nina) Skraitz of Fellsburg, Dr. Timothy B. (Vicki) Skraitz of McMurray and Dr. Thomas B. (Shu-Fen) Skraitz of Buffalo, New York; daughter, Susan (John) Sedley of Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Michele (John) Risko, Tara (Ryan) Carr, Erika Skraitz, Dr. Kristina (Bryan) Rossin, Lauren (Ryan) Chismark, Cody Skraitz, Timothy Joseph Skraitz, Dylan Skraitz and Callista Skraitz; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Judy) Skraitz of Seattle, Washington and Charles (Martha) Skraitz of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Geraldine Skraitz of Richmond, Virginia.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as celebrant.
