Larry C. Boyd, 73, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Mon Valley Hospital. Larry was born July 2, 1944, the son of the late Elmer C. and Dolores (Axton) Boyd.
Protestant by faith, Larry was a Deputy Sheriff for Westmoreland County, retiring in July 2017. Prior to that, he drove bus for 88 Transit Bus Lines for 17 years and was a constable for Rostraver Twp. Larry especially loved his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his ATV at his cabin in the mountains.
He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Jo (David) Cramer of Rostraver and Shannon (Jeff) Skobel of Celebration, FL; grandchildren, Jonas Cramer, Noah Cramer, Boyd Skobel and Rainey Jo Skobel; brothers, Duane (Cheryl) Boyd of Van Meter and Tom Boyd of Bear Rocks.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Amy J. Boyd on February 11, 2014.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com Additional viewing will take place on Saturday from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at The Christian Center, 1590 Ridge Road, Belle Vernon where a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m.with Pastor Tim Burgan and Pastor Brian Hart co-officiating. Interment in Fells Cemetery will be private.
