Leo Gniefkowski, 91, of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Born in Glassport on November 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Leon and Cecilia (Mularski) Gniefkowski.
Leo lived a long and full life and enriched the lives of his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Patricia (Sokol) of Van Meter on October 4, 1958. He was a loving, supportive and kind husband, brother, father, grandfather ("Dziadek") and great grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War and carried the lessons of service, strength and commitment with him throughout his life!
He is survived by his 3 children, Brenda (Gary) Dilmore, Lee (Lisa) Gniefkowski and Susan (John) Kosinski; five grandchildren, Shawn (Brittany) Dilmore, Brandon Dilmore, Samantha (Jared) Gniefkowski, JT (Emily) Kosinski and Tara (Dahlton) Kosinski; great-grandchildren, Jaylee Dobsch, Jaycee Dobsch and Griffin Dilmore; sisters, Celine Skerkoski and Ruth Watson . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia (Sokol) Gniefkowski; and sisters, Rita Tragesser and Lorraine Hickey.
Family and friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com Interment, with full Military Honors, will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
