Lester E. Bergman

Lester E. Bergman, 92 , of Collinsburg, died Monday, August 20, 2018. Born in Collinsburg on July 2, 1926, he was the son of the late August and Caroline (Reinhard) Bergman.
Lester was the last living member of the Bergman family. He was retired from Mathies Coal Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 2244, West Newton Sportsmen and West Newton VFW. He served in the US Army during World War II.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, especially, Susan & Jeff Woollen & family of North Carolina, Glenda & Dave Gebert of Bear Rocks and David & Michelle Vilchek & family of West Newton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Laura Jean Bergman, Anna Smith and Caroline Migitsch; and brothers, Frank, August, Norman and Ludwig Bergman.
A private service was held in West Newton Cemetery.
