Mary Alice Males, 92, formerly of Indian Hill Road, Belle Vernon, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Mary had been ill with Alzheimer's Disease for some time and spent the past two years at Country Care Manor. Born on August 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Stanko and spent most of her youth and adulthood living in Belle Vernon.
Mary was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She was known for her love, compassion, generosity, and faith in God. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, Bible study, and watching television - particularly reruns of "Gunsmoke" and "I Love Lucy". She rarely missed the 11 o'clock newscasts on Channel 2. Mary was a lifelong member of the Donora Gospel Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Males on February 24, 2014.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonita (Joe) Anders of Monongahela and Ardith (Jim) Smith of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Jason (Becca) Anders, Stephen (Joy) Anders, James (Amber) Smith and Bethany Smith; five great grandchildren; and sister-in-law; Iva Sowers of South Carolina.
Special thanks are extended to Country Care Manor and its employees, as well as hospice for the love, care and compassion given to Mary during her residency over the past two years. They were marvelous!
A private funeral service and interment will be held in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
