Oren "Chuck" Hilty

After an eventful life of 69 years, Oren Charles ''Chuck'' Hilty II of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Born in Indiana PA on May 24, 1955, he was the son of the late Oren and Sylvia (Central) Hilty.

Chuck was the husband of Alice Hilty for 48 years. Surviving are 2 daughters, Erin H. Wilson and her husband, Justin, of Portland, Oregon, and Maria R. Hilty of Pittsburgh, PA. Chuck also enjoyed and adored his granddaughter, Audrey J. Lesnock. He is also survived by his sister, LeeAnna Joslin and her husband, Rick, of Irwin, PA.

Chuck graduated from Indiana Area High School, Indiana, PA. He received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana University of PA where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He also received a master's degree in health management from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University. Chuck spent many rewarding years working in a variety of nursing roles, most notably in critical care administration. He started his hospital career as an orderly, eventually becoming an emergency department tech and a staff nurse. He advanced through unit management, service line management, and system level management to senior director of multiple departments. Chuck worked hard to make his departments efficient, his staff proud and productive, and especially, his patients feel valued. Other career turns involved pharmaceutical sales, and owning and operating Nonni's Italian Market.

Chuck loved to cook. He loved shopping for ingredients, going to farm markets in the summertime, and growing them if he could. His favorite days were spent creating food for others to enjoy.

For a self-proclaimed "strange little chunky man", Chuck was loaded with integrity, intelligence, strength, and plenty of humor.

The family will have a celebration of Chuck's life at a later date.
