Robert A. Markle

Robert A. Markle, 82, of Chesnee, South Carolina, formerly of Rostraver Township, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Born in Rostraver Twp. on September 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Lloyd D. and Helen (Mognet) Markle.

Bob was retired from the Rostraver Township Road Crew, where he was an operator/truck driver. He was an active member of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Rostraver where he served as Trustee. He honorable served his country in the PA Army National Guard. 

He is survived by his wife, Patti (Smith) Markle; daughter, Lauralee (Eric) Bodenheimer; grandchildren, Sarah, Chance, Noelle and Chase; great grandson, Toby; siblings, Janet (Jan) Colvin, Judy (Rich) Slivensky and Danny (Nanci) Markle; and sister-in-law, Susan Markle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Markle. 

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 12 Noon with Pastor Ken Sommerfeldt officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in West Newton Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Olive Branch Baptist Church Abiding Memorial Fund, 285 PA-981, Rostraver Twp, PA 15012 or to the charity of one's choice.
