Ronald L. Quinto, 82, of Rostraver Township, died Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Havencrest Nursing Center. Born in Webster on February 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Patsy and Emma (Gini) Quinto.
Ron was a 1953 graduate of Rostraver High School, where he was a star player and letterman in football, basketball and baseball. After graduation, he received a football scholarship to the University of Wyoming in Laramie. After college, he was drafted into the Cleveland Indians Baseball Farm System. Ron formerly worked at Pages Wire in Monessen and retired as Road Supervisor for Rostraver Township. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his son, Ronald A. (Karen) Quinto of Rostraver Twp.; daughter, Stacy (Frank) Barrick of Carlisle; grandchildren, Ronald J. (Janice) Quinto, Kara (James) Pasquinelli, Josh Barrick and Hunter Barrick; great-granddaughter, Juliana Quinto; sister, Marlene Moreschi of Webster; half-brother; Edward (Ann) Medley of Georgia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Susan Quinto in 2015 and a brother, James Quinto.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Sommerfeldt officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.
