Rose Sharp

Rose T. Sharp, 106, of Glassport, died Thursday, September 6, 2018 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born in Scotland on March 23, 1912, she was the daughter of the late David Joseph and Ann (Crone) Sharp.
Rose was retired from Continental Can Company. She was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Catholic Church in Glassport and was a volunteer at the church in visiting the elderly and, along with numerous other ladies, attended funerals for those folks who had no family. Rose enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and she was a local sports fan, especially for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
She is survived by her great nieces, Patricia Lynn Sharp of Pittsburgh and Debra Lee Orendt and her husband, Martin of Harrison City; great-great niece, Mackenzie S. Orendt; and a dear and close friend, Michael Ford.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret F. Sharp, Agnes S. Krome and her husband, Fred; brother, Robert J. Sharp Sr.; nephew, Robert J. Sharp Jr. and his wife, Marilyn.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Queen of the Rosary Church, 530 Michigan Avenue, Glassport. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, North Versailles.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to White Oak Animal Safe Haven, 2295 Lincoln Way, McKeesport PA 15131 or to Meals on Wheels, 1406 Cornell St., McKeesport PA 15131
