Roy P. Taylor

Roy P. Taylor, 85, of Rostraver Township, died Saturday, March 9, 2024.  Born in Rostraver Township on September 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Ford C. and Sarah E. (Porter) Taylor.

Roy retired from Therm-O-Rock East in Monongahela, where he was a fork-lift operator. He was a member of Bible Alliance Church in West Newton. He enjoyed camping, attending church, going to Florida, cutting firewood and visiting friends. He especially loved spending time with his beautiful wife, Alma, whom he married on July 24, 1959, and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting on the bench at Walmart and talking to people while his wife shopped. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his son, Timothy (Terri) Taylor of Rostraver; daughter, Laurie (Bruce) Pokol of Rostraver; grandchildren, April (Brian) Colditz, Stephanie Taylor (Jeremy Boyd), Heather (Cody) Amprim, Erin (Sean Bavuso) Pokol, Kate Zuzak, Sarah (Jeff) Hart, John Pokol, Gayle Pokol and Jesse Pokol; great grandchildren, Brian "Bubby" Colditz, Joshua Colditz, Alyxandra Colditz, Faith Boyd, Mason Amprim, Roman Amprim, Leon Amprim, Melody Pokol, Matthew Bavuso, Patrick Bavuso, Trevor Zuzak, Ava Zuzak, Owen Zuzak, Wayne Zuzak, Avery Hart and his 16^th great grandchild on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma L. Taylor on July 20, 2023; and his brother, Ronald L. Taylor.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com Additional viewing will take place on Tuesday from 10 to 11a.m. at Bible Alliance Church, 1300 Mt. Pleasant Road, West Newton where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frank Todaro officiating.   Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
