Theresa B. Koons

Theresa B. Koons, 96, of Marietta, Ohio, formerly of Monongahela, died Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born in Monessen on December 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Paluv) Sabol.

Theresa was a former member of the New Hope Church in Elizabeth where she was active in the Hand Maiden Organization of the church. In recent years, she was a member of Journey By Grace Church in Rostraver Township.

She is survived by her son, Sherman H. (Beth) Koons Jr. of Marietta, OH; daughter-in-law, Patricia Koons of New Eagle; grandson, Keith (Emily) Koons ; great-grandchild, Laia Koons ; sister, Mildred Samuels of Lodi NJ; her best friend, Charlene Pezzoni; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman H. Koons Sr.; son, Keith Edward Koons; 3 brothers and 8 sisters.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) https://www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
