William L. Vinck, 90, of Long Branch, died at his home on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Born in Northpoint, PA on August 25, 1927, he was the son of the late Zerie and Edith M. (Rowe) Vinck.
Bill worked for Wheeling/Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport and retired in 1981. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Monessen, serving as Elder and Trustee in the church. He also served on the Council of Long Branch Boro, was active with the Long Branch Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and served in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his sons, William A. (JoAnne) Vinck of Greensburg and Edward J. (Lucille) Vinck of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Elaine M. Dandrea of Long Branch; grandchildren, Doray McConnell, Nicole Hill, Bridget Flynn, Kyra Vinck, Ashley Faylor and Sarah Vinck; great grandchildren, Billy and Logan McConnell, Kaylin and Max Hill, Gunner and Silas Flynn, Odin and Caden Faylor; sisters, Lillian Smith of Rostraver and Patricia Kopechek of Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Emily R. Vinck on July 2, 2013.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where the Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Conrad Auel officiating.
Interment, with Military Honors, will be on Tuesday, November 14 at 11:00 a.m. in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The First Christian Church, 115 Sixth Street, Monessen, PA 15062.
The Roscoe American Legion Post 801 will conduct a service in the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m.
